The FIDO Alliance was launched in 2013 with the audacious goal to change the very nature of authentication. To move the entire world away from usernames and passwords and traditional multi-factor authentication to a much simpler and stronger way to log in with FIDO.
It’s 2021, so passwords must be dead now, right? Of course not, but the progress made in the last 8 years, and in 2020 alone, is showing that this “audacious” goal is actually doable. But, when providing FIDO Authentication to consumers, technical implementation is only one piece of the puzzle. FIDO necessitates behavioral changes for users, so designing a user experience (UX) that entices a majority of your users to enroll and login with FIDO will be a critical key to success.
Join Andrew Shikiar, executive director and CMO of the FIDO Alliance as he looks at the past year’s progress from the FIDO lens, and learn about what’s next -- including how the FIDO Alliance is addressing that critical UX piece for deployment. In the second half of the presentation, Andrew will be joined by a panel of UX experts to discuss the optimal flows for enrollment and login with FIDO in desktop environments.
