Atul is a federated identity pioneer and the inventor of CAEP. He provides technical leadership in Google Workspace with a focus on access security. In his role at Google, he conceptualized the Continuous Access Evaluation Protocol (CAEP), which forms a basis of the Shared Signals and Events working group in the OpenID Foundation. Earlier, he was a co-founder and the CEO of Trustgenix, Inc., where he helped define open standards such as the Liberty Alliance and SAML 2.0. Trustgenix defined the federation server, a concept that was later adopted by almost all technology vendors. Trustgenix was acquired by HP, where Atul continued as a Director of Federation. He was most recently the Identity Architect at MobileIron, Inc.
