Nate has been in security for over 20 years in Silicon Valley startups and the Fortune 50 across engineering, architect and leadership roles.  Nate is the founder at Cloudsec.ai, providing consulting services to AI focused software companies, ensuring their security programs align with their business goals to enable secure development free from unnecessary friction. He was previously CISO at Tradeshift, securing over a trillion dollars of global trade for some of the largest companies in the world, responsible for IAM, security engineering, platform engineering and GRC. More recently, Nate developed O'Reilly's AI for Cybersecurity Professionals course and is the lead author of the Cloud Security Alliance research paper with guidance on building secure, AI backed systems. He is also an Executive-in-Residence at Scale Venture Partners focused on AI security infrastructure investments and is a member of the OWASP Agentic Security Initiative working group.
