Annabelle Backman

Annabelle is a Senior Software Engineer at Amazon. She spent her first six years with the company focusing on consumer identity in Amazon’s retail organization, where she built features for the retail sign in experience and served as the technical lead for the Login with Amazon product. She has since moved to Amazon Web Services (AWS), where she drives architectural development for the AWS customer identity platform, working with products such as AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS Single Sign-On (SSO), and Amazon Cognito. She also participates within working groups in the IETF and OpenID Foundation. She has a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Washington. Outside of the industry, Annabelle spends her time birdwatching with her wife in the many parks and wild areas around Seattle, and taking part in political activism.
