Vice President of AWS Identity; AWS
Jim Scharf is the Vice President of AWS Identity. He owns the services that enable AWS customers to manage and govern their identities, resources, and access across AWS in all regions across the globe. Jim was one of the earliest members of AWS, and ordered the first rack of AWS servers back in September 2004. Jim has launched a number of AWS services over the years, including AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS Key Management Service, AWS Metering, AWS Data Warehouse, and AWS Fraud Prevention. Jim also served as Technical Advisor to AWS Senior Vice President Charlie Bell. Prior to his current role, Jim served as the General Manager of Amazon DynamoDB, owning P&L, product, engineering, and operations for DynamoDB worldwide.
