Session Abstract: Digital ID is in different stages of implementation around the globe, from countries like Norway and Sweden close to full digital ID adoption to counties just embarking on the digital ID journey.
A recent Open Identity Exchange (OIX) survey showed that 87% of businesses are assessing digital ID and 43% of businesses already further along. However, they still have concerns that need to be addressed.
We will reflect on some of the barriers that must be overcome for businesses to be confident enough to accept digital identification, including:
• Regulatory acceptance
• User awareness
• Existing friction points
• Inclusivity for digital IDs
• Response plan should something goes wrong
• Fraud protections
The presentation also will provide different views and stages of digital ID adoption worldwide. It will also explore how wallets and decentralized IDs help address concerns businesses may have.
