Login.gov is a government CIAM service billed as “the public’s one account for government.” Since its launch in 2016, Login.gov has been used to enable single sign-on for government services by 47 agencies and states – but also found itself in the middle of controversy due to agency inspector general reports that found that the program misled customers on its compliance with NIST digital identity guidelines. With new leadership – and a new focus on meeting NIST Identity Assurance Level 2 (IAL2) requirements – the program is looking forward. This session will dive into Login.gov with its new Director and discuss lessons learned and the path ahead.
