The System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) has gained traction in identity and access management for synchronizing identities across cloud services. Despite widespread adoption, SCIM lacks crucial features for hyper-scale implementations, such as entropy detection and resolution, resulting in the use of SCIM and non-SCIM mechanisms to deliver synchronization at scale. This session will discuss our collaborative effort within IETF to address gaps in the SCIM standards. These proposed standards will introduce critical features to support hyper-scale synchronization, entropy detection, and identity reconciliation use cases, reshaping the landscape of Identity Management. Join us for a glimpse of the future of SCIM - a more comprehensive set of standards that increase accuracy and efficiency across diverse IT ecosystems.
