At Identiverse 2023 we reviewed the Venn diagram of passkeys, the passkey threat model, and provided guidance on how to consider the threats associated with device bound and synced passkeys. A year has passed, passkey deployments have picked up speed, new passkey providers are entering the ecosystem, and WebAuthn L3 is nearing completion. In this talk, we'll look at what's changed since 2023, the changes coming to the passkey ecosystem, and how those changes change - or don't change - the passkey threat model.
