Tim Cappalli is a standards architect for Okta Customer Identity Cloud where he works on standards and strategy for phishing-resistant authentication, digital identity wallets, security signal sharing for zero trust, identity related Web Platform APIs, and content authenticity. He is an editor of the W3C Web Authentication Level 3 specification and a co-author of the Shared Signals Framework and Continuous Access Evaluation Profile specifications, and the primary maintainer of passkeys.dev. Previously, Tim was a standards architect at Microsoft, leading work on the first generation of passkeys and working closely with the FIDO Alliance, W3C, Google, Apple, developers, regulators, and other organizations to bring a new default phishing-resistant credential to the digital world.
