Description: Identity is a core component of any modern cybersecurity strategy. In order for General Motors to blaze a trail to its “All Electric Future”, an IT foundation that supported a secure path to all of their digital services was required. This session will highlight how GM developed a cybersecurity strategy that focused on Identity as the core element of the approach. While Zero Trust is quite the buzzword these days, insight will be presented that details how each element of a Zero Trust strategy can be realized thru a set of modern identity services that support the enterprise.
Another key aspect of GM’s cybersecurity transformation is a move from a private to a hybrid cloud infrastructure model for IT resources, where Zero Trust principles also play such a critical role. Of course, some bumps and bruises will be absorbed along the “Drive to ZTA,” and learned best practices and guidelines will be covered.
Finally, we will address how GM implemented the NIST Cybersecurity Framework to assess and measure its cybersecurity posture on an ongoing basis.
