Description: At some point or another, a lot of companies will launch an Identity & Access Management (IAM) project, whether to rationalize a noodle plate of scripts, identity data flows and broken authentication systems or to replace a legacy IAM solution. And such an IAM project can be a daunting task for many reasons, and we have all heard about years-long projects that eventually failed or delivered very little.
As someone who has been there, join Bertrand Carlier in this session to hear his hard-earned understanding of why IAM projects can fail – specifically because they are IAM projects. Topics will include the many adherences to manage within the IS, the minimization of the business aspect of IAM, the over-promising and over-expectations, the underestimation of legacy, the loss of knowledge, stereotypes, the many and various skills it requires for a team to successfully achieve your goal. We will also cover ways to cope with this and find paths, specific project or program organizations, and successive steps to go from one point (generally an existing and aging IAM infrastructure) to another one (a modern IAM solution).
