James is the Global Head of Risk and Identity Solutions for Visa, a role that he was asked to take on in April, stepping up from previously leading strategy and operations where he was redefining the strategy and operating model for one of Visa’s fastest growth businesses. Partnering with an amazingly talented team, and an incredible portfolio of customers to redefine the role Visa plays, helping to make more payments simple and safe, however, wherever and whoever you pay. James enjoys engaging with financial Institutions and corporates around the world as they redesign digital experiences, products, channels and services through the thoughtful use of technology, underpinned by innovative fraud, risk and identity solutions. James brings global leadership experience in payments, financial services, risk, technology and data to be a provocative thought leader, and enjoys engaging in thoughtful debate about the opportunities created at the intersection of payments, commerce and identity. James previously led the digital identity and fraud and risk intelligence businesses at LSEG (Refinitiv) and held leadership positions with American Express and Paypal. Having spent his career based in London, Hong Kong, Thailand, India, Singapore and New York, James is now (occasionally) based in Texas. He is also an experienced mentor, board advisor and investor.
