Privileged access management (PAM) tools are used for managing human accounts for system administrators and application super users. PAM also manages non-human accounts to allow machines and applications to talk to other applications. We often spend time discussing the human use cases in detail, but we don’t often discuss the non-human use cases or their many challenges. PAM programs struggle with managing application integration and non-human accounts because of the complexity. In this session, we will discuss strategies for discovery, onboarding and integrating application accounts with PAM tools to effectively manage their privileged credentials. We will look at typical use cases and how to work with the application teams to onboard their applications and administrators into your PAM tool. This session will be useful to PAM practitioners wanting to expand the scope of their program to include applications.
