The U.S Identity Ecosystem was never purposefully designed. Instead things were established with one purpose (social security number, driver's license, death certificates, credit bureaus) and they have over time drifted well beyond the original scope. This lack of design, federated nature of governance and 100 years of drift have left a fractured environment subject to inefficiency, inequity and fraud. This talk proposes to look at the problem head-on through sharing findings of an identity country diagnostic, some simple tools that can help model the interwoven people, processes, technology and more granularly understand a particular identity flow and how it fits within the overall ecosystem.
