Dr Christopher Betts is an IT Architect and Identity SME with over thirty years’ experience in Industry and Government. He has worked extensively on customer identity, primarily in Australia, and helped to author the Australian Government's “Trusted Digital Identity Framework” (TDIF) which forms a foundational component for other Australian standards and initiatives. He has also worked on the Australian Open Banking and Consumer Data Rights standards.
He has developed internal and shared standards for Identity Verification within both companies and government agencies, ranging from high value, in person verification through to low document verification standards suitable for remote and under-serviced rural communities. He has also worked as liaison between federal, state and commercial institutions to drive adoption of identity standards and align approaches to, and acceptance of, identity standards in Australia (which has a federated government system with distributed responsibility between the federal government and state governments).
He is a keen hands-on technologist with an interest in Directories and open source LDAP software, and has worked with blockchain startups on security and identity issues.
