Subtitle: A brief history of human naming and relationships, and what they might mean for workloads and other animals.
Humans have named things for a very long time. We name each other in order to have conversations about each other. The next frontier in identity appears to be "non-human identity". How can we learn from our past use of names when it comes to naming epheremal and not-so-ephemeral things? This presentation will explore our history of naming, the relationships involved in naming and being named, and how those might apply, or differ from workload, bot, process and device naming. We'll go beyond the username, touch on "Zooko's Triangle", and the implications for our coming naming explosion.
