Dr. Buttle is the Chief Technology Officer of the Kantara Initiative, where she leads the organization in keeping abreast of the various standards, legislation, and directives that may apply across the community. Dr. Buttle joined Kantara from the UK government’s Department of Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), where she was Head of Certification and Assurance. She brings her unrivaled expertise in designing trust frameworks and identifying the implications of specific regulations and standards designed to support personal data privacy and security. She has regularly input into developing identity trust frameworks across the globe.  As demand for identity certification extends into new markets and territories, she will ensure that Kantara maintains its role as a leader in identity assurance, offering challenges and guidance to support all our members, clients, and partners. She previously served as Head of Assurance for the UK Government Digital Service and has worked in private industry as Principal Consultant and Engineering Manager. She has lectured internationally and has written many articles, technical papers, schemes, and frameworks.
