The UK believes that secure and trusted digital identities can support economic growth and give people more choices about how they prove things about themselves, thereby delivering more security and reducing frictions across the digital economy. To this end the UK approach is focused on helping people and businesses to easily identify trustworthy digital identities, by enabling a system where products and services have been certified against Government standards to show they are genuine, secure and privacy focused.
Hannah Rutter, representing the UK Government’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, will showcase the UK’s technology-agnostic, standards-based approach. The session will explore how the UK Government is addressing the challenges of ensuring digital identities are thoroughly secure and trustworthy, while driving inclusive adoption, and opening up new opportunities for innovation.
