David Lee is a Field CTO, advisor, and long-time identity practitioner with more than 20 years of experience designing, deploying, and rescuing large-scale identity programs across enterprise and regulated industries. He currently serves as Field CTO at Saviynt, where he works closely with customers, partners, and internal teams on identity strategy, architecture, and execution—bridging the gap between business outcomes, security requirements, and technical reality.
David is best known for his operator’s perspective on identity: what works in theory versus what survives contact with real organizations, real data, and real constraints. His work focuses on identity governance, access management, identity-driven security, and the emerging impact of automation on identity programs.
A frequent speaker and returning voice at Identiverse, David has presented for six consecutive years and has previously delivered keynote sessions. His talks are known for being direct, practical, and grounded in field experience—challenging conventional thinking while offering actionable insight.
Outside the conference circuit, David is the creator of The Identity Jedi newsletter and podcast, where he explores identity, leadership, and the human consequences of security decisions at scale.
