Murad leads cybersecurity at the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System, bringing more than two decades in IT and more than a decade of hands-on security experience. His career reflects a steady rise through the technical ranks across infrastructure, engineering, and information security, giving him a practical understanding of how to build and mature security programs in the complex environment of a teaching and research academic health system. Before joining UI Health and establishing its cybersecurity program, he spent his final two years in the U.S. Army working in cybersecurity. He has also taught cybersecurity and networking, reflecting a leadership style rooted in technical credibility, practical execution, and capability building.
