As a part of their ambitious growth strategy, they needed to rapidly expand services to thousands of newly acquired employees, and leadership was requesting a repeatable model for M&A—no easy feat with a complicated, outdated IAM ecosystem. They embarked on an “IAM 3.0” initiative to create an easily adjustable, modular-based system, while remaining independent of customizations. Sound impossible? This presentation will explore how the team at Intermountain Health addressed these challenges through an identity simplification approach, creating a consolidated identity store for existing and acquired identities. The team now plans to use their identity data layer to easily accommodate growth, and take advantage of best-of-breed, IAM 3.0 technologies to modernize their entire IAM ecosystem These major changes set them up for a scalable future, as well as reduce the data integrity issues that result from aging services.
