Tim Roufa began his life in public service in 1999, working in the Florida House of Representatives Bill Drafting Services Office. In 2001, he joined the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Division of the Florida Highway Patrol as a State Trooper, where he served for more than 22 years in various roles including traffic homicide investigations; training academy instructor; and assistant training academy director.
In 2015, he was appointed to the rank of Major as the FHP’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In 2021 Tim was appointed to the rank of Chief over the newly formed Administration and Technology Command.
He retired from the FHP to join the AAMVA Identity Management team. At AAMVA, Tim manages the AAMVA Digital Trust Service and assists in outreach efforts to encourage adoption and consumption of mobile driver licenses (mDLs) in North America.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from The Florida State University He is an active member of the IACP Law Enforcement Information Technology Section and the IACP State and Provincial Police Division.
