Ms. Kay Chopard is the Executive Director of the Kantara Initiative, an accredited certification body under ISO 17065, that delivers conformity assessment testing for the U.K. Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF) and the U.S. NIST SP 800-63 Digital Identity Guidelines. In addition to certification processes, membership opportunities are available to work on emerging issues, including privacy-enhancing mobile credentials, biometric data privacy and security requirements, shadow AI in the enterprise, anchored consent and receipt, and many others. She is a volunteer for the nonprofit global Women in Identity organization and serves as the U.S. Ambassador.
With over 40 years of international executive leadership experience across government, nonprofit, and business organizations, she excels at building networks and collaborations. She is admitted to the practice of law in the state of Iowa and to the U.S. Supreme Court Bar.
She has led several nonprofit organizations, e.g., as Executive Director of the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) and the Identity Ecosystem Steering Group (IDESG), among others. She spent ten years in federal service as a Division Chief at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), managing a multi-million-dollar federal budget and staff.
She lectures internationally and has authored many publications.
